School is in!

The kids had a great first day of school! Cole started Jr. High, Carsyn started Kindergarten, Chris is in 2nd, and Kendal is a BIG 8th grader! I can't believe all 4 of our children are in school...time flies. Here are some pictures from the 2nd day of school...the ones I took yesterday, I can't get off the sd card. All is good in the Thompson World, a little more crazy than before, but happy nonetheless.

Tinkerbell

Carsyn loves her Tinkerbell pajamas Elena gave her this summer! Thank you Elena...she keeps asking when you are coming back from the match...till next year! Good luck at the U.S. Open, we'll be routing for you from Wilton!

Summer Fest!

From the Jamboree, we took the boys to Summer Fest in Rancho Murieta! It was like going to the County Fair in a small town, minus the smell. For 2 tired parents who didn't want to go in the first place, we shut the Fair down at 11:30. I enjoyed watching the Ferris Wheel from the ground, but did freak out a little when it broke and Cole was at the top of the wheel. Perfect end to summer! School starts tomorrow...back to the grind!

Let's Rumble!

Football season started yesterday...after several gruelling weeks of conditioning, the boys had their Jamboree. Cole went into the history book for scoring the FIRST touchdown in the Pleasant Grove Junior Eagles league. He was a star! Chris was amazing in his own right...playing corner back, he had 3 incredible tackles! He wasn't afraid to engage the opponent...in fact he was such a good defender that he was hit from behind and sent tumbling. We were at the field from 11:00 am -6:30 pm...a routine that will be ours for the next 2 months. We spend our week nights at the practice field, but it's a family affair! Rick is the offensive coordinator for Cole's team and is quite good!

Goofing Off

I guess the kids take after their Aunts! They love making faces and taking pictures of themselves when they're bored. Only a mother would love these faces!

Our Girls

Kendal is in leadership at Albiani Middle School, they put on 2 days of workshops for the incoming 7th graders of which Cole was one.

Making Stella Pretty

Carsyn took some pictures of Stella getting a grooming...it took me 1-1/2 hours to comb her out! She wanted to look nice for football practice! She was a real trooper, it is no fun having tangles ripped out of your hair!

Old Friend from Holland

Chris van Dam, a family friend(and an old fling of mine-as Rick likes to say), stopped by for the night. He is on a 4 week holiday, RV-ing thru the State of CA. He hasn't aged a bit in 18 years, unfortunately I have...BUT I do have 4 kids & 15 years of marriage to show for it! It was so much fun to catch up & reminisce about old times! The kids think its funny that I actually had boyfriends before their dad...Imagine that!

Caps WIN!

A rare treat to sit with Elena during a match.
Her personal cheering squad!

Carsyn was so excited, she fell thru the seat! We are the Champions!
What an exciting weekend! Caps won Friday night, so Elena got to see the view from our seats...of course this was after we sneaked in to the match late after a little shopping spree at Nordstrom Rack! Caps beat New York Buzz 24-20 in overtime, I cheered so much I lost my voice. It is always a bitter sweet ending... we get more sleep, but miss breakfast with Elena!! What will we do with ourselves now...Football! Tryouts begin Monday.
