1 transfer down

Sorry I did not write yesterday, we had reunion de cambios. I am staying with hermana Parks in Padre Hurtado :) Not many changes in our zone, hermana Bustamante is going to train so hermana Selk got a new companion who is living with us. She is super sweet, she is from Paraguay.

So, first off, Ariel was baptized on Sunday!! So awesome! He was so ready and prepared for this day. Seriously such an awesome family. I am so excited to see him grow in the gospel as we teach him the new member lessons. Before he never wanted to ask his boss to get time off but he is asking to have every Sunday off now. milagro. Seriously I feel like we didn't even have to do much lol he was just so ready to be baptized. facil. I hope I can go to their sealing in 1 year haha.

Hermana Parks and I have started cleaning the capilla (chapel) each week. I don't even know how often the church is cleaned right now haha. But we spent like 2 hours on saturday cleaning and making it look nice for the baptism. Mom you would be so proud. I am getting super good at cleaning haha. I think I am develpoing a little ocd. It is good though because things look so much nicer echen clean, especially the chapel. It is the house of the Lord and we should keep it in tip top shape. It should be modeled off the temple as should our homes, clean and pure.

This week we had a lot and I mean A LOT of lessons and plans fall through. I was getting so frustrated and impatient. ¡Que Fume! But through all of this I came to realize that things fall through so we can find other people who need us more; or things happen that needed to take place. God has a plan and it isn't always the same as ours. If a certain lesson had taken place then we wouldn't have been in this place at this time to find this person. It is hard to see through it but things do fall so better things can happen. The Lord's hand is in our daily lives. I know there are people helping us on the other side all the time. I was reading this talk in the Liahona this week and an apostle said "Trials come into our lives to help us recognize Christ." It is so true. When there is a storm in our life, we look for the light of Christ. We rely on Christ and the atonement to carry us to safety.

We read the scriptures daily because the scriptures are literally our spiritual protection from temptation. Marcela is reading the book of mormon again. She is so awesome. She believes this gospel is true, she believes in Christ, she believes the book of mormon is true. The problem is she doesn't have much faith. Belief and faith are such different things. Faith is acting on the things you believe. So right now we are trying to build her faith, but it is so hard when she won't come to church!! ugh. Sometimes I just wish I could make people do things lol. gosh dang albedrio...

Pero ayer at the conference de cambios. Presidente talked a lot about Vision. What is your vision for your misison (life)? What are you going to do to accomplish it? There are going to be people who say you can't but have faith and work towards your goal. You can do it!! Motivation...so what is your Vision going to be?

Ciao

mes ami

bonjour à tous! j'espère que la semaine s'est passé bien! si non, n'oubliez pas qu'il y a une nouvelle semaine devant vous :) (loose translation:I hope you had a great week, and if not, well you got another one coming up)

so i might have a quick letter this week...maybe lol. well anyway, elder vira and i went on an exchange this tuesday, he is one of the other elders living with us here in cannes and is from venuatu! super cool. so that was a really cool day! we put the questionnaires that i was talking about last week to work and boy did they work! they are so great! even if the person isn't interested we still get a nice 10 minute conversation with them and they realize that we are not these crazy people lol  Later that night we went to bishop's house so elder yang and elder GM could get haircuts. well we were there for a while and i ended up talking to his 15 year-old son Dorian for a while. this dude is sooo cool!! needless to say we got close...he reminds me a lot of you chris! and its weird bc he seems way old, but he is just about your age!!

wednesday was another day in antibes. antibes is an outside ville in our sector, but there used to be a branch there so there are alot of less actives and much work to do. anyway we went and had 2 lunches there with some less actives, it was nice. we then went to choir practice which is every wednesday night at 7, but everyone knows i have a terrible voice so it is not always the most fun thing to do for me lol. happy birthday dad!!! getting old on me ;)

thursday we went to toulon for a district meeting, so the day was pretty much taken up with trains and district meeting.

friday was filled with weekly planning and ward council...next week looks like a good one! we finally got some things set up rather than just finding the whole week. ward council here is intense! we are in the process of getting our building under construction so we will be having church in antibes (idk when were making the move over there though). but the big problem were having is that we won't have a baptismal font within a 1 hour long train ride, so we all came to the decision that if we have a baptism we will do the baptism in the ocean!!! talk about motivation to get a baptism :)

saturday we had to wake up at 5:30 to travel to toulon again bc one of their amis was getting baptized! so very excited but that took up the whole day lol idk if you all remember our ami we had in manosque, but her name is catherine and she got baptized saturday also!!!

sunday was a great day! so saturday night we invited all of our amis to church. but sadly no one answered so we just left messages. well when we got to church yesterday, mme. miranda came to church (she is the lady we saw last sunday that is married with 3 kids) she was like "ya i got your message and my brother called me this morning at 7 and said 'go to church!'" lol her brother is a branch president in portugal so he should help her out a lot. but we got into a RDV with her and she started telling us about her brother's conversion story. she started crying bc she was so touched by it. we told her that she could have the "peace" that she sees in her brother's life. we want that for her whole family. oh she has got a lot of potential!!

so ya that is about it for the week! here is what i learned:
1. is snapchat still a big app in the US? it is pretty big here lol
2. if you would like to know more about cannes, you can visit cannes.com lol
3. whatever you do, do it with love?
4. no matter what is happening know that the lord is in control and is doing it for your benefit.
5. hope is a precious principle by which to live; it gives us purpose to all that we do.
6. no amount of sorrow can make things right; only the lord's love can, if you let him.
7. being emotionally strong can be a very lonely thing.

quick spiritual thought: alma 30:44    all things denote that there is a god! just look at the sun, the stars at night and the moon. look at all of it, it all testifies that there is a "supreme creator"

love you all, God is good and jesus is our savior, aren't we all witnesses?

have a great week!
