Mothers Day!

We had a relaxing day visiting with family...The men cooked prime rib, tri-tip, asparagus, brussel sprouts, grilled squash, tomatoes with mozzarella & basil, fruit salad, homemade ice cream with fresh strawberries (thanks to Lonnie), and strawberry shortcake! We were especially grateful to spend some time with Mimi, Papa, Nana, and Poppy!!! It was sooo good to see them, we have missed their not being around this past year. I feel very blessed by the "mothers" in my life, I am surrounded by remarkable women...each having a tremendous impact on who I am and strive to become! Thank you for your spirit and your sacrifice. I love you! Kelly

Reptile Farm

The kids found a new pet! They put him in the pasture with the horses, I am hoping it gets stepped on! Rick brought home a turtle the other day he found in the middle of the road on Clay Station, it's shell was about 10" in diameter. We put it in the pond! I've heard it's mating season. Carsyn likes reptiles as much as her mother does...not at all. I could hear her screaming from inside the house, I thought someone was seriously hurt! Kendal surprised me by being the first to touch it. Chris went to a reptile birthday party and they had all kinds of reptiles to touch and hold. Chris got his picture taken with a boa wrapped around his shoulders! Yuck!!!

River Oaks Center For Children Fundraiser

Last time we attended this fundraiser, we bought the week in Mexico...this time we bought a $50 gift card Sports Chalet for $40-not bad! We had a lot of fun...it's entertaining watching the face lift, boob job, tummy tuck older women wearing cocktail dresses that are way too revealing of their loose skin. The older men with very young women, I wasn't sure if they were their daughters or dates. I walked around with my dad a little...I hope no one thought I was his date...I called him "Dad" all the time! Doesn't Rick look dashing?!

Fieldtrip to Mickey Grove Zoo

Kendal and Chris played hookey from school to go with Carsyn and me to the zoo with her pre-school class. We had a picnic lunch and enjoyed seeing all of the animals. Cole was doing STAR 9 testing!

New Calling!

Rick has yet another new calling...1 every year for the past 3 yrs! He has been called to be the 2nd counselor in the Bishopric. When we met with the Stake Presidency, President Taylor (2nd counselor) shared with us his experience of coming up with Rick's name. Pres. Taylor couldn't get Rick out of his mind for this position but doesn't have revelations for the Wilton Ward...anyway he brought it up in their stake presidency meeting and President Williams told him to call Lonnie (our Bishop & Brother-in-law) and tell him if he needs Rick, it is not out of the realm of possibility. Lonnie laughed because he was struggling with 2 names and Rick was one of them. President Williams told us that the Lord has a plan for Rick and that he couldn't think of another person more qualified than Rick going into a Bishopric. A very nice compliment from a remarkable man to a remarkable man. We are humbled by the responsibility given to him. May heaven continue to bless and lead us along the path of righteousness.

Country Life!

I picked the kids up from spending the night with Mimi & Papa where they had a wonderful time...who wouldn't love all that attention! Here are the kids cruising the property while Rick mows "the jungle". Don't worry, I had the Ortho Bee Killer Spray out just in case...we love the country!!!

The Zoo

We went with our cousins to the Zoo and Fairytale Town on our first day of spring break. I had 9 little monkeys swinging around and carrying on like they were just let out of their cages! We had a great time!
