Kendal's Holiday Tapestry
Galena Street East once again put on a fantastic performance...Sheldon, our host while in China, made a special trip to see them perform...he flew in for the night and after the show we had a wonderful reception at my parent's home. It is neat to see Kendal's progress in her performing abilities! We are very proud of your dedication Kendal!

Happy Halloween

We went to this fabulous halloween party that is second to none! Sandi puts on an elaborate scavenger hunt which our family won this year...it took us 2 1/2 hours to complete the hunt! Our award was the Wilton Witch Trophy.

Princess #27

Our tough football player is not afraid to show his feminine side... he has decided to be a princess for Halloween! One day he is scoring a touchdown, the next he is wearing a dress...boy does he have guts! He even created a chest using lemons! He is a crazy kid...he gets that from his dad! Gotta love him!

...and he SCORES!
Chris scored his 1st touchdown for the year...ever, actually! He is an animal on the football field. He ran for a 27 yard gain carrying 3 guys with him for the last 6 yards! Papa will be pleased that he has mastered the "straight arm" skill, he got passed 4 guys that way...he is hard to take down! He flat-backed a kid who was 2 ft. taller than he...we have no idea where his strength came from. Even Cole is amazed by his little bros ability on the field!

Poor Cole

Cole fractured his clavicle in 2 places wednesday night during football practice. He had a great run with the ball until he got tackled by 2 heavy hitters on the team (Steven being a close friend). As they went down, one of the guys (not Steven) caught his face mask and jerked his head to the right which left his left shoulder and neck to take the brunt of the fall. He was tough, but couldn't shake off the pain...his collarbone had a bump on it and began to swell within minutes. Thanks to my dad, we were in & out of the emergency room in an hour...it is all in who you know!
First 3 things he asked:
1. How will I write? He's a lefty
2. How will I shower?
3. How will I pass (the sacrament)?

Baseball with Elena
We took Elena Likhovtseva(Pro-Tennis Player) out to Stonehouse for some baseball fun on a rare day off while the rest of the Capital's team traveled on to Newport for their match on Monday...she opted to stay and spend the day hanging out with the family. She was dying to try her skills on the baseball field, and of course she was quite good! She, Cole, & Rick all hit home runs, but I must say, I surprised my family by not being too bad myself. Maybe my boys did get their talent from me!! LOL Even Carsyn tried her hand at the plate with a little help from her big bro! It was a nice way to spend a relaxing day!
We did have an incident that was quite exhilarating! A foul ball flew over the fence to where we were sitting, no joke! If I hadn't pulled Elena out of the way, she would have taken it on the top of her head...could you imagine our having to call Lonnie and tell him Elena wasn't going to be able to play in Newport because she got hit in the head with a baseball! He would have killed us, but my quick reflexes saved the day...instead the ball ended up hitting Carsyn in the nose after bouncing around the bleachers a few times! Sorry Carsyn, but I know my priorities! We all had a good laugh!!

From Baseball to Tennis to Football
We are a little sad, but after playing for 4 days in a row, Cole's all-star team finished their season with a heartbreaking 8-9 loss...but it was exciting while it lasted! Cole finished the regular season with a .753 batting average; during the All-Star tournament he hit .560, pitched 7 scoreless innings, & hit a 3-run homerun! He made an amazing "superman" style catch at 1st to keep the opposing team from scoring with bases loaded...he is so fun to watch!
Now Cole, Rick, and Chris are gearing up for football which starts in 2 weeks...until then, we have the Capitals Tennis Matches thru July to keep up occupied!!

Back from China
Now that I have recovered from jetlag, I am finally getting back into life. Kendal and I had an amazing experience in China with Galena Street East for 2 weeks! It is difficult to put into words the memories we will cherish for a lifetime. I loved the country, the people, the history...could have done without the squaters and only eating chinese food, but I am ready to go back! Here is a link to all the pictures we took on our travels.
